thanks for the compliment! It was a piece that representing a sad time in my life- I am happy that the message was sent in such beauty. I love the Bob Marley quote- there is much truth in it!

its the redness in the eye that makes her look sad. i dont understand how you put so many colours into such a small part of a face and make it look so real.

:jawdrop: Wow. I have so much to say about this, but i hope it doesn't turn into mindless banter. I love the expressiveness, and I LOVE the colors. I'm not sure if this was anything you had in mind for it, but using nondescript and uncommon facial colors leaves the subject's race up for the interpretation of the viewer. Makes me want to get out my oils right now. You are what the artists of deviant should be held up to.

Thankyou for you keen sense of little details. Well to tell you about the colors would take forever, but the secret of my realism is the in luminosity- the different shades of white and yelow ochre gently highlights the eye is what makes it somewhat real and reveals the emotion of the subject and overall meaning.

Thanks, people like you mean the world to me! I live for a good descriptive comment. All I can say is that you have an eye for detail. And I truely apprecaite that because I am sucker for details and of color.
To be honest with your comment- You have found me out! I do use uncommon skin tones to disguise race. I do that so only the meaning is revealed- making one human race. Afterall, we all breathe the same air and have the same emotions. Thanks again and I am happy that I inspired you to go paint! Thanks again and have fun!

that one human race technique is very interesting.

Hey,
This is great stuff!!! Very inspiring, and striking! I want to learn how to do this. Very good! I also like yellow ochre...use it in most of my paintings, even if you can't actually see it (often part of an undercoating). But really...this is just fantastic!

Good Work,
Kermit
